Concert in Rio 14 maart afgelast! Updates + filmpje!
Afgelopen nacht is het concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazilie afgelast omdat het podium gedeeltelijk ingestort was door storm en regen.
In eerste instantie leek het erop dat er leden van de GN'R- en plaatselijke crew gewond zouden zijn, maar gelukkig viel dat later nogal mee.

ATTENTION: The March 14th Guns N' Roses show in Rio De Janeiro at Apoteose Stadium has been officially canceled for this evening due to the stage collapsing because of heavy rains. Stay tuned for more info and possible rescheduling information as we receive it.
There is a possibility the show may be rescheduled for tomorrow night March 15th or at a later date. There fortunately are no fatalities but there are injuries from both our camp and Rio crews the extent of which is not known at present. The Rio Fire Dept is evacuating crews out of the venue to avoid further injuries with the heavy rains and winds. Details are just coming in. Also a truck w/part of The Sebastian Bach Band's gear has rolled on the trip from Sao Paulo to Rio what is our understanding several times and we are awaiting details on the safety of the driver at this time. Del James: - The stage in Rio collapsed due to a massive thunder storm. Doors to the stadium had not yet opened to the public so no fans were inside when the stage collapsed. The band was not at the venue when this occurred The earliest reports lead us to to believe that there may have been casualties and serious injuries. Th...ankfully that was not the case. Everyone in the GNR crew are shaken up but doing fine. We will keep everyone posted as more information comes in but the most important thing is that everyone, GNR as well as local crew and stage hands, are alive and well.
RIO UPDATE: All injuries appear to be minor. There were originally radio reports of a fatality which has fortunately turned out to be false. Initial reports are that our staging is for the most part ok but a more accurate assessment is being made. No word yet on if the show will be moved to tomorrow the 15th or another night. Reportedly Baz's truck driver is ok as well. Thank you again for your understanding.

The stage collapsed in Rio. Latest update I received was that no one was injured, the gear survived. No discussion yet on if a make-up show will be possible, we'll need to give it time for the business folks to work all that out. Axl Rose heeft via Twitter laten weten geen zaken meer te doen met Azoff en Andy Gould.
Guns n Roses gaat voortaan in zee met Doc McGhee wie ondermeer ook manager is van Kiss.

"Fuck!! The NY shows were insane!! Love the free form laid back vibe n' both were completely different from r view. The fans were AMAZING!! John (Varvatos) was really great! And to keep CBGB's rockin'?! Badass!! Goin' into Rose Bar was rough on some. Lotta best left memories from the old hotel. The gig helped w/some o' those. Felt really good on stage. (We actually 'LIKE' playing together n' I absolutely agree some things should b a lot less complicated than others made them in the past that's why we're together n' other's by their own accord ain't here.) We all had a great time, it was a madhouse!! Thanks to everyone who came out n' those who helped put 'em 2gether. Good to have a short break n' gear up 4 South America. I LOVE NY!!

1991: Terwijl de band optreed in het Riverport Performance Arts Centre in St. Louis ontdekt Axl iemand in het publiek die foto’s maakt.
De security reageert niet op Axl’s verzoek om de persoon te laten verwijderen, dus springt Axl; het publiek in om zelf maatregelen te nemen.
Als hij weer op het podium komt, klaagt hij over de security en verlaat het podium.
De rest van de band volgt.
Daarna breekt er een rel uit.
GN’R wil weer verder gaan met de show, maar ze worden geadviseerd om dat niet te doen.
De band verspeelt hun uitrusting en Axl word beschuldigd van het veroorzaken van de rel. 1992: Op zo’n korte termijn een geschikte locatie te vinden voor het afgekeurde Vicente Caldaron Stadion in Madrid is onmogelijk.
Dus de laatste show in Europa moet gecancelled worden.
In een verklaring erover zegt Axl: We hadden ons er echt op verheugd om deze laatste show in Europa te spelen omdat we van het Spaanse publiek houden en omdat we een wilde nacht geplanned hadden aan het eind van de tour.
We hopen dat het ons lukt om zo snel mogelijk weer terug te komen en het goed te maken voor onze fans.
Concert in het Alvalade Stadion in Lissabon, Portugal.
Soundgarden, het voorprogramma, begint hun show om 16.00 uur, Faith No More speelt daarna en om 23.00uur begint GN’R met hun show.
Als de show begint gaat het publiek met lege waterflessen gooien, zoals ze ook al deden tijdens het voorprogramma.
Midden in het eerste nummer, als Axl rent glijdt hij uit over een flesje.
Hij valt op zijn rug en zingt de rest van het nummer en het volgende nummer gewoon liggend verder.
Duff komt ondertussen even kijken of alles wel goed met hem gaat.
Dan staat hij op en zegt dat als mensen flessen blijven gooien dat ze dan vertrekken.
Ik ben hier niet gekomen om gewond te raken, en ze stoppen met de show.
Na een tijdje komen ze terug en gaan weer verder. Maar het publiek begint met vuurwerk en aanstekers naar elkaar te gooien, niet naar de band.
Axl stopt de show weer (tijdens Civil War) en vertelt hen te stoppen.
Dan komt er iemand van de Portugese Organisatie en probeert om het publiek rustig te krijgen.
Op een gegeven moment komt de band weer terug en begint Patience te spelen, de rest van de avond bleef het rustig.
De show was een jaar na de St. Louis riots en de kranten refereren naar dat incident de volgende dag. 1993: Slash en fotograaf Robert John worden geïnterviewd door de BBC.
Axl, nog steeds in Verona,Italië, gaat bij U2 kijken.
